This Sunday, October 25 at 9 PM EST, the History Channel’s popular MonsterQuest will air their long-awaited episode about Adam Davies’ and Dr. Ian Redmond’s journey to the Himalayas in search of the Abominable Snowman.

From the History Channel MonsterQuest site:

“The Abominable Snowman is among the most frightening and notorious monsters in history. This ferocious nocturnal creature is said to attack people and slaughter their animals. Witnesses report sightings of a strange, hair-covered beast and claim to have heard blood-curdling screams. Evidence amassed over the last century may point to a startling conclusion: that something real and unknown stalks the desolate mountains of the Far East. Scientists and experts will examine the clues while the MonsterQuest team will undertake their most dangerous expedition to date with an epic ascent onto the snowy peaks where recent evidence of the beast was found.”

I was in touch with Adam recently and hope to speak with him soon about his Himalayan expedition, as well as his recent Sumatran expedition in search of the elusive Orang Pendek. You can visit him on the web at www.extreme-expeditions.com.

  1. I was able to meet two of the guys from the Parafactor this past July at a con outside of Pittsburgh. I think I remember them saying that they used to belong to another show or something, so I guess that was it. I was pretty impressed that they took the time to talk to me and were pretty personable considering that a lot of the other guys at similar booths were more about ushering you along…I wasn’t able to watch Adam’s episode last night…I need to learn how to set the reminder on my TV!!!

    • Adam’s show on MonsterQuest was pretty interesting. I’m just hoping that he’ll actually catch or film one of these crypto-critters one of these days. But if anyone will, it’ll be Adam. I was in touch with him this morning and I’ll be speaking with him this week, both to catch up and to do a short print interview. I’ll be getting back to doing the radio show on my own sometime within the first couple of weeks in January.

  2. If you liked Extreme Expeditions you HAVE to listen to Adam’s interview on The Parafactor. I don’t know if you are familiar with them, but that was one of the funniest interviews I have ever heard!

    • Never heard of them. Kidding – before the Parafactor, the show was called The Paranomalists and I used to be on with those guys. I was the one who originally contacted Adam and booked him on the show, which is how I got to know him. He’s a VERY funny guy, and very down to earth. I co-interviewed him twice and we’ve kept in touch by email and occasionally speak on the phone, although it’s been a while. I emailed him to wish him well after his recent hospitalization, and I told him that I was going to print that he got an STD from a female orang pendek. I’m hoping to chat with him for a bit next week and do a follow up article about what he had to say about his recent expeditions. Adam’s a good dude. I hope to meet him face to face one of these days soon and go for a few beers with him (another interest we share – beers).
